Be prepared for ALL weather – temperature & precipitation
- What to wear on Friday:
- Waterproof Hiking Boots
- Class-A Uniform
- Jacket
- Hat
- In case it rains (or worse):
- Rain suit or Poncho
- Rubber Boots – unless hiking boots are waterproof
- Warm Jacket or Coat
- Warm Mittens or Gloves
- Knit Cap
- Something to sleep in:
- Extra clothes to sleep in
- Sleeping Bag or Envelope Bed (see Boy Scout Handbook)
- Sleeping Pad, Ground Cloth, or Extra Blankets
- Pillow – optional
- Changes of Clothing (pack in plastic bags):
- 3 or 4 Extra Pairs of Socks
- 2 or 3 Sets of Underwear
- 2 or 3 Extra Shirts
- At least 1 long-sleeved shirt
- 2 Pairs of Long pants/shorts
- 1 or 2 Sweatshirts or light jackets
- Sneakers (may get ruined)
- To Keep Clean:
- Unscented Soap & Comb
- Wash Cloth & Small Towel
- Toothbrush & Toothpaste
- Deodorant (non-aerosol)
- What else to bring:
- Watch
- Insect repellant (non-aerosol)
- Sun protection (non-aerosol)
- Flashlight & Spare Batteries
- Canteen or Water Bottle
- Mess Kit & Utensils
- Pocketknife & Boy Scout Totin’ Chip Card
- Paper & Pen or Pencil
- Boy Scout Handbook (in cover or gal. Baggie)
- Backpack, Duffel Bag, or Equipment Bag
