Attention Eagle Candidates, Scoutmasters, Eagle Advisers, and Eagle Project Coaches~
Even if you are still using the old Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project Workbook, you should still refer to the Chester County Council Eagle Scout Handbook which is available at http://www.eaglescout.itgo.com/Handbook.doc.  In addition to links to information about project planning with the new Workbook, it has checklists and information about the application and paperwork process.  Applications have been coming in to the Council office without all the needed information, particularly the requirement #6 Ambitions and Life Purpose statement and the Yearbook Information Form.

This Thursday evening at 7:30 pm council will hold a Life to Eagle Seminar. This is highly recommended for any scout who is Life or close to Life and is planning on going for Eagle. The seminar will go over the process of earning the rank of Eagle Scout including the process of the Eagle project. The process and workbook have changed in 2011, so if you’ve attended in the past, it’s still highly recommended that you attend again this year.

Patrols will be conducting their own activity on Tuesday, November 22nd, because Mary C. Howse in not available.  Patrol Leaders must arrange for at least two adults to chaperone, and must be sure to inform their entire patrol of where and when you will meet, and what the activity will cost.  Drivers must be 18 or older, have a valid driver’s license, and all passengers must wear a seat belt.

We are meeting at the Grove Church parking lot at 10 AM on Saturday, November 19th.  From there we will collect the Scouting for Food bags we delivered on the 12th, hopefully filled with canned goods and other non-perishable food.  If everyone shows up on time and ready to go, we expect to be back at the church by 11 AM.

The food will be donated to the Coatesville Community Food Co-op, which
has had difficulty keeping its doors open.  The Co-op serves 65 to 70 people
on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Someone will meet us at Grove to deliver it
to the Co-op.

In addition to supplying Scout-power and adult supervision, we are asking Troop 55 to bring their own food donations to add to what we collect.

Please try to help!
